Dental consumables market to exceed $36B in 5 years

Katherine E. Pfaff

The market for dental consumables and prosthetics is predicted to grow at a rate of 5.9% CAGR across the period from 2021 to 2026. The current (2021) value is estimated at $27.5 billion, and the worldwide market is expected to attain a value of $36.6 billion by 2026.

The market is rather wide-ranging, including materials needed in everyday office visits such as disposable tips, sponges, x-ray films, fluoride, and rinses to materials needed for filler, endodontic procedures, and prosthetics.

Within the overall market, the products making up the general supplies portion are forecast to increase by a CAGR of 4.7%, based on a surge from 2021 value of $9 billion to an $11.4 billion value just 5 years later.

Separately, the segment dedicated to supplies and materials needed for treatment was anticipated to grow at a CAGR of 8.1% by reaching a value in 2026 of $5.6 billion, up from a 2021 value of $5.6 billion.
