Dental imaging to reach more than $3800M

Katherine E. Pfaff

The global market for dental imaging is forecast to reach a value of $3817.9 million in the next 6 years, according to a report by Valuates Reports, a market analysis company. During the report, the sector is expected to grow at a CAGR rate of 7.9% between the forecast period from 2022 to 2028. The dental imaging market was forecast to reach a $2425.1 million value in 2022.

Growth within the market is expected based on trends of speedier and accurate diagnostic options, more affordable imaging device systems, as well as greater patient demand for cosmetic dental options bolstered by increasing levels of disposable income and higher rates of tooth decay.

At the same time, continuing advancements in technology and digital capabilities in imaging have led to growth across the dental imaging market. Computed tomography, MRI, ultrasound, and cone beam CT have become more common as the technologies are adopted. The advancements have allowed dental practices to spend less time on imaging overall as advancements have streamlined manipulating and storing images.

By end user, the dental clinic is forecast to be the most profitable segment in the report as the devices are affordable and fast treatment planning is needed. The regional view on dental imaging forecasts that North America will hold the largest revenue based on the number of imaging companies, the high likelihood of technology advancements driving adoption, and patient demand for imaging technologies.
