Poly to Serve on ADEA Council of Faculties

Congratulations to Ane Poly, D.D.S., M.Sc., Ph.D., a clinical assistant professor in the UF Department of Endodontics, who was recently chosen as the college’s representative to the Council of Faculty Representatives for the American Dental Education Association, or ADEA. The council’s purpose is to promote excellence and collegiality within dental education and the oral health professions as well as to represent and advocate for all faculty.

“We are so proud to have Ane represent the University of Florida and Gator Dentistry by serving on the council,” said Roberta Pileggi, D.D.S., M.S., chair of endodontics.

Poly joined the University of Florida College of Dentistry, or UFCD, in 2025 where she mentors graduate students on their research projects and collaborates on studies with other researchers and clinicians. Her primary research interests include AI applications in dental education, particularly those involving 3D imaging. She also has expertise in AI in dental education, CBCT and micro-CT volumetric analysis, as well as modeling and rendering 3D objects for 3D printing. Poly also provides patient care in the UF Health Faculty Endodontics Practice.

Poly earned her dental degree in 2009 from the State University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and went on to earn a certificate in endodontics in 2010 from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She then returned to the State University of Rio de Janeiro, earning her master’s degree in 2014 and her Ph.D. in 2019. She worked in private practice in Rio de Janeiro from 2010 to 2020, while also serving on faculty at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. From 2017 to 2018, she completed a research fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. From 2022 to 2025, Poly was a clinical assistant professor at the Texas A&M University College of Dentistry in Dallas before coming to Florida as an EndoGator.
