OSAP opens registration for 2024 dental infection control booth camp

Feb. 5-7, Atlanta

The Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP) announced on Sept. 7 that registration is now open for the 2024 OSAP Dental Infection Control Boot Camp. Two registration formats are available, in-person plus and on-demand only, according to a news release.

The boot camp provides a comprehensive introduction to the essential principles and practices of infection prevention and safety within the dental setting. The course is perfect for those new to dental infection prevention and safety, those early in their career, making a career shift, or who want a refresher. By the end of the course, participants will have a strong foundation, empowering them to create a safe environment for both patients and providers.

The camp or conference will take place in Atlanta at the Crowne Plaza Atlanta Perimeter at Ravinia from February 5 – 7. Sessions will be recorded and available to all registered participants starting at the end of February.

OSAP will also bring back the successful Antibiotic Stewardship Summit pre-course event on February 4 and a special Federal Service Session on February 8.

OSAP Executive Director Michelle Lee said in the news release that ensuring a safe dental visit is a team effort.

"Everyone from the dental assistant to the dental hygienist to the dental practice manager to the dentist is involved," she said. "And so are the educators, consultants and sales representatives who sell dental infection control products and services. Participating in Boot Camp will ensure you and your team understand relevant regulations, guidelines, standards, and best practices to protect yourselves and provide safe care to every patient.”

Participation counts toward the education requirements for two dental infection prevention and control certifications:

Dental Industry Specialist in Infection Prevention and Control (DISIPC)

Certified in Dental Infection Prevention and Control (CDIPC)

Early-bird registration is available now through Dec. 4 at osapbootcamp.org.
