Primescan 2 Cart Wins iF Design Award

Recognized for its ergonomic, clinician-centered design that supports easy and comfortable integration of connected, cloud-based workflows into everyday clinical practice.

Dentsply Sirona today announced that Primescan 2 Cart has been awarded the 2026 iF Design Award in the category Product Design – Medicine / Health, recognizing its ergonomic design, intuitive usability, and seamless integration into digital dental workflows.

The iF Design Award jury cited Primescan 2 Cart for its high-quality industrial design and thoughtful handling in daily clinical practice, supporting efficient workflows while enhancing both the clinician and patient experience.

As digital dentistry continues to accelerate globally, an estimated 25–30% of dental practices worldwide have adopted intraoral scanning, with thousands of clinics adding IOS systems in recent years 1 . As adoption grows, clinicians increasingly prioritize portability, workflow integration, and ease of collaboration with laboratories, factors that were central to the design of Primescan 2 Cart.

Designed for mobility and flexibility at chairside, Primescan 2 Cart features a compact footprint and wireless functionality, allowing clinicians to position the system comfortably within the operatory while supporting connected, cloud-based workflows.

“Primescan 2 was the first cloud-native intraoral scanning solution in dentistry, designed to be future-ready from the start. The Primescan 2 Cart builds on that innovation by responding to the realities of today’s practices, offering the mobility, comfort, and flexibility many clinicians prefer at chairside. We’re proud to see this holistic approach to design recognized by one of the world’s leading design institutions,” said Johannes Krug, Vice President, Connected Technology Solutions at Dentsply Sirona.

The 2026 iF Design Award reinforces Dentsply Sirona’s focus on combining advanced technology with human-centered design to support the future of digital dentistry—particularly as practices place greater emphasis on connected workflows, portability, and long-term scalability.

The iF Design Award is one of the most internationally recognized and respected design awards, honoring excellence across disciplines including product design, user experience, and user interface (UI) design. Organized annually by iF International Forum Design GmbH, the award is judged by an independent international jury and is widely regarded as a global seal of quality for design excellence, with strong recognition across Europe, North America, and Asia.
