Pearl awarded CE certification for its radiological dental pathology aid

Katherine E. Pfaff

AI dental care company, Pearl, has received CE Mark for its dental radiology technology; the company calls the European regulatory approval an "industry first." Pearl's Second Opinion AI solution platform is designed to help identify dental pathology through x-rays. The second Opinion uses dental radiologic images to identify the disease as well as previous dental procedures.

The program can provide a reliable diagnosis that can be easily shared with a patient as the technology overlays x-ray images with diagnostic or treatment information. The platform could also help to eliminate variability in dental diagnoses or treatment suggestions.

"The moment dentists and patients experience Second Opinion®, they'll understand why we've been so vocal about AI's potential to revolutionize dentistry," founder and CEO Ophir Tanz said. "Second Opinion® will deliver the obvious benefits of a consistent, higher standard of care, and it will also bring the second-order benefits –– more dental patients, higher case acceptance, and improved communication –– that drive growth for the entire dental category."
