Maryhill Dental in Glasgow snapped up by first-time buyer

Maryhill Dental, a four-surgery NHS dental practice that has been successfully serving the community for over 50 years, was recently sold to a first-time buyer, Dr Utkantha Sharma, for an undisclosed amount. The news was announced by Christie & Co., a specialist business property adviser.

The practice currently has over 3,500 patients and has been owned by Kristen Perry since 2015. She recently decided to sell to focus on other non-ownership responsibilities.

Joel Mannix, associate director at Christie & Co., said that after huge buyer interest, Maryhill Dental went to a closing date with lots of quality candidates, allowing the vendor the freedom to choose a buyer who best suited the business’s ethos.

Mannix said that the practice sold for more than the asking price with premium post-sale conditions.

“We’re seeing huge buyer demand in Glasgow at present, especially from first-time buyers, which banks are increasingly seeing the benefit of lending to in this needs-driven sector,” he said in the news release
