More than 33,000 attend GNYDM 2022

Tens of thousands of dentists, hygienists, technicians, office staff and dental students attended the 2022 Greater New York Dental Meeting (GNYDM).

Organizers tallied 33,467 registrants, including 12,188 dentists and 2,211 hygienists who attended courses and walked the exhibit floor at the Jacob K, Javits Convention Center in New York City.

Dentistry33 conducted interviews with and will be featuring stories in the days to come on:

• Dr. Tricia Quartey, a dentist and chief executive officer at Noble Dental Care, P.C. in Brooklyn, New York. Quartey serves as a spokesperson for the American Dental Association.
• Dr. Terry Grant, president of the New York chapter of the American Society of Geriatric Dentistry and a diplomate of the American Board of Special Care Dentistry. Grant led a session on geriatric dentistry as part of a Special Needs Forum at GNYDM.
• Dr. Sammy Noumbissi, founder and president of the International Academy of Ceramic Implantology, an independent association focused on metal-free and ceramic implantology.
• “Misinformation and Disinformation in Communication,” a session sponsored by the American Association of Dental Editors & Journalists. The session was moderated by Dr. Stuart Segelnick, a periodontist who practices in Brooklyn.
• Michael Spence, regional healthcare manager at Panacea Financial, a financial services company for doctors, created by doctors.       
• Branden Hill, director of strategic growth at Dental Nachos, a continuing education and professional development company for dentists, office team members and dental students.
• Dr. Paul Goodman, founder of Dental Nachos who also leads Dentist Job Connect.
• Frédérik Marcil, founder and CEO of Kube Innovation Inc., a company based in Montreal that is disrupting dentistry with Innobyte, a new biometric technology to measure patients’ bite force.
• Autumn Shumaker, director of U.S. sales with Andau Medical, which produces medical devices including ergonomically friendly loupes for clinicians and dental teams. Andau Medical serves as a distributor for Innobyte and other medical devices and technologies.
• Travis Rodgers, CEO and founder of DrDDS and a venture capitalist with Revere Partners, who showcased a handful of dental startups at the meeting.
• Michael Duckwitz, CEO and founder of abrux, a Colorado-based startup that is developing a new biofeedback device to treat bruxism or teeth grinding. Abrux was one of the startups supported by Revere Partners at the GNYDM.

Dentistry33 will also soon share a preview of next year’s International Dental Show, to be held in Cologne, Germany in March 2023.
