Edra Publishing strengthens its presence in North America with the acquisition of Duck & Partners and CommuniVET

MONTREAL, August 2, 2021 – Edra Publishing US, LLC consolidates its scientific activities in Canada and North America with the acquisition of Duck & Partners and CommuniVETTM, two Canadian companies that are well established in the medical communications sector, particularly in the field of veterinary medicine.

This partnership with Edra Publishing gives Duck & Partners and CommuniVETTM access to a wealth of innovative solutions and technologies that will allow them to continue their forward momentum and strengthen their position of leadership in the Canadian veterinary community.

Duck & Partners has been providing strategic and creative consulting services in Canada for more than 16 years. During that time, the agency has established itself as a trusted expert resource in the animal health sector, offering to its clients in the pharmaceutical, veterinary and medical industries a full range of services that include the development of strategies, programs, and turnkey projects aimed at healthcare professionals.

CommuniVETTM is a leading veterinary information and continuing education platform whose membership has increased fivefold in the past five years. Through its online portal, CommuniVETTM provides veterinarians, veterinary technicians, students, academics, and other veterinary professionals from across Canada with unlimited free access to up-to-date, relevant content – much of which is eligible for continuing education credits, and is offered in Canada’s two official languages (i.e., English and French). CommuniVETTM brings a fresh new twist on information sharing and continuing education by presenting its scientific, professional development and practice management content in a variety of engaging formats, including, among others: webcasts, videos, interactive case studies, monthly columns, social media, and e-newsletters.

"We firmly believe that joining the Edra Group represents the start of an exciting new chapter for us – one that will help us achieve an even greater level of excellence," says Daniel Leduc, General Manager of Duck & Partners. "The cutting-edge technological support and scientific expertise to which we now have access will facilitate the development of quality educational content and unique learning experiences for all veterinary professionals. In addition, being part of the Edra Group will not only make us stronger but also help us embrace a more global vision, thanks to the support and resources of Edra's international subsidiaries."

According to Giorgio Albonetti, President and CEO of Edra: "This acquisition represents a new fundamental step for our group in our internationalization process, allowing us to strengthen our position in the veterinary sector and to consolidate our scientific leadership in the market, especially in the strategic English-speaking market in which the group already operates."

Adds Ludovico Baldessin, Edra’s Chief Business and Content Officer: " The syndemic scenario – where the effects of the pandemic are multiplied by environmental and socio-economics factors – requires a syndemic response, and we have leveraged a unique vision for the environment, animal and human health. Thanks to the leading digital solutions and the competence of Duck&Partners and Net.Com.Med, Edra puts the basis to accelerate the growth of new knowledge of health professional to build a new brighter future".
