The 11th Hong Kong International Dental Expo and Symposium, "Driving Innovation in Dentistry," is organized by Hong Kong Dental Association and will be held from Dec. 2 - 4, 2022 at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Speakers presenting at the conference include University of Siena Professor Simone Grandini, who will discuss endodontic treatment and, more specifically, the concept of deep shape preparation, designed to offer optimal features of adequate coronal enlargement, full deep shape, and apical resistance form in a simple instrument sequence.
Dr. Michael Norton, who runs a practice dedicated to implant and reconstructive dentistry in London, will provide clinical perspectives on a new tapered implant, with background on the science and concept behind this new type of implant designed to deliver high stability at a clinically acceptable level of torque. Norton is also an adjunct clinical professor at the University of Pennsylvania Dental School.

The Association has been recognized as a representative of the dental profession by the government, which has consulted the association on matters related to dental policies. In the early days, when dentistry was not yet fully developed in Hong Kong, the association gave dental development recommendations to the government proactively, including a water fluoridation plan, set up of a dental school in Hong Kong that is now the faculty of dentistry of the University of Hong Kong, and a training school for dental hygienists.
