ArtCraft Highlights Innovative TempOff Instrument

For years, dentists have relied on hemostats, rubber-tipped instruments, and improvised techniques that often slip or require excessive force and anesthesia, sometimes even cutting off temporaries.

ArtCraft Dental is drawing attention among restorative clinicians with TempOff, an innovative instrument designed to simplify temporary removal.

For years, dentists have relied on hemostats, rubber-tipped instruments, and improvised techniques that often slip or require excessive force and anesthesia, sometimes even cutting off temporaries. The result is wasted chair time, clinician frustration, and uncomfortable patient experiences.

Developed by practicing dentist and inventor David Fyffe, DDS, TempOff was engineered to securely remove temporaries of all types in as little as 3–5 seconds.

What makes this instrument unique is the stable, 4-point contact tip. This tip provides a firm, non-slip grip on temporaries of all types, allowing the practitioner to lock on solidly to the provisional in the proper position—the upper one-third above the level of the underlying prep.

Once locked on, less force is exerted on the tooth and build-up, and the lower two-thirds of the temp is free to flex out and break its own cement contact.

The result is faster, easier, and more predictable temporary crown removal, often without anesthesia and without cutting off the provisional.

“Temporary crown removal should not be this difficult,” said Dr. Fyffe. “I created TempOff® because I was frustrated with instruments that constantly slipped or failed to grip the temporary properly.”

As practices continue prioritizing efficiency and patient comfort, TempOff is rapidly becoming a modern alternative to traditional temporary crown removal techniques.
