Michigan dentist places 100 implants with a robotic device

Katherine E. Pfaff

Dr. Bruce Smoler, DDS, FAGD, FICOI, of Michigan, has provided 100 implants to patients in 100 days using a robotic device that assists in surgery. Using the FDA-approved device, implants can be placed accurately and minimally invasively, cutting down on time to treat the patient and the patient’s healing time.

The robotic dental implant device provides more precise placement and speeds the length of treatment, meaning that patients can receive implants on the same day and spend less time at the actual appointment. The surgery is also minimally invasive so that implants are placed without incisions and thereby with no need for sutures.

Dr. Smoler has previously spearheaded the use of PRGF stem cell therapy, nonceramic full arch bridges, and 3-D printing technologies.
