AAO Annual Session Showcases Industry Advances

The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) announced the successful conclusion of its 2026 Annual Session, held in Orlando, Florida, from May 1–3 and attended by more than 12,000 registered attendees from 80 countries.

The event, which included three days of learning and collaboration for orthodontists and their staff, plus a full day of pre-conference programming, featured more than 200 sessions led by the world’s leading orthodontic clinicians, researchers, and experts in practice management. The AAO Annual Session Exhibit Hall featured more than 350 exhibitors focused on advancing orthodontic practices with groundbreaking products and services from hundreds of leading companies.

“The AAO Annual Session continues to provide orthodontists and their staff with the most reliable, independent, and objective continuing education in the specialty, as well as a myriad of professional and personal growth opportunities,” said newly installed AAO President Dr. Michael Durbin. “This year’s event reinforced the AAO’s commitment to strengthening the specialty by bringing the latest technological advancements to practitioners from across the United States and throughout the world,” Durbin continued.

The AAO Annual Session was also the site of the AAO’s annual New Products Showcase Award competition, where exhibitors from across the orthodontic industry unveiled their latest innovations.

Winners were selected via onsite voting by orthodontists and residents attending the Annual Session, ensuring that the winners truly reflected the preferences and needs of the orthodontic community.

The recipients of the 2026 AAO New Products Showcase Award are:

Known as The World’s Greatest Celebration of Orthodontics™, this year’s Annual Session featured opportunities for orthodontists at every stage of their careers to learn best practices, explore innovative technologies, and network with other orthodontists.

Next year’s AAO Annual Session will be held June 4–6, 2027, in Vancouver. The event’s schedule and keynote speakers will be announced later this year, and registration will open in November 2026.
