3D offers new VSP Hybrid Guides for maxillofacial surgeons

Katherine E. Pfaff

3D Systems has launched its newest surgical planning tool, VSP Hybrid Guides. The device, which was developed through a collaboration with Stryker, combines titanium strength with flexibility to allow for personalized guides that include the registration to the tooth and a slim profile for use in areas with reduced visibility.

VSP Hybrid Guides are comprised of nylon at the dental registration portion and titanium metal in portions where the device is drilled into bone. The device's design allows for a smaller guide footprint and better visualization during surgery. The devices are 3D printed and can be customized per patient.
