Toothpic, a dental technology company, will partner with Delta Dental of California to allow for remote dental consults. The collaboration will be available to Delta Dental of California PPO and Delta Dental Premier members and create digital channels for Delta members.
A cloud technology firm, Toothpic, will offer a mobile phone application that uses augmented reality to assist patients in taking and uploading dental photos which are shared with an in-network dentist. An additional artificial intelligence program aids in interpreting the photos. The images can be used to diagnose, monitor, and consult from any location. The easily accessible technology means that patients can virtually meet with a dentist within a day.
