Henry Schein One launches Dentrix Ascend API Exchange

Henry Schein One announced on July 13 the launch of the Dentrix Ascend Application Programming Interface (API) Exchange, an information marketplace for software vendors to share their expertise with thousands of practices on the Dentrix Ascend cloud-based system. Through the exchange, Dentrix Ascend customers can leverage information provided by participating vendors, such as app descriptions and links to websites.

The Dentrix Ascend API Exchange reinforces the company’s commitment to open architecture, with the exchange open to all vendors who follow approved security and safety standards. The system is simple to join through an online application form. In addition to receiving access to the program and Henry Schein One’s network of thousands of practices and patients, participating vendors can also leverage resources, such as marketing tools and tutorials.

Alan Rencher, chief technology officer with Henry Schein One, said in the news release that the exchange will allow best-in-class partners access to a broad ecosystem which contains the largest network of dentists and patients.

“We have numerous third parties who are approved and ready to share their expertise with our network, and we’re excited to drive the growth of this powerful dental community,” he said. 

Once approved for the Dentrix Ascend API Exchange, vendors can complete a simple self-service onboarding process to access a powerful dental community, helping to drive new innovations in the profession. For example, vendors offering artificial intelligence tools, VideaHealth and Bola AI, are approved participants in the exchange.
