At last week’s International Dental Show, Directa launched several products. The company’s new Sendoline S3 System allows clinicians to perform a root canal treatment with rotary or reciprocating movement - using the same instruments.
According to a news release, each of Sendoline’s S3 instruments are manufactured in NiTi alloy with different flexibility options for root canal treatment. The first instrument in the sequence, Sendoline S3 no. 1 with its traditional NiTi alloy, ensures good straight-line access.
Instruments no. 2 and no. 3, including the additional S3 Glidepath are heat-treated. The heat-treated NiTi alloy combined with the size of the instrument offers each instrument in the sequence the perfect balance between flexibility and efficiency.
The S3 System can be used with most endodontic motors. When using Sendoline Endo Motor, all settings for the Sendoline S3 System are installed. If reciprocating movement is preferred it is more convenient to use the S1 contra-angle handpiece, which is easily connected directly to the dental unit.
New Sendoline Endo Motor
The company also launched a new cordless rechargeable motor for endodontics - Sendoline Endo Motor. This new device unites the latest technology with the simplicity of a preset program, offering the user the choice to choose their own settings.
Sendoline Endo Motor can be used for both rotary and reciprocating endodontic systems – providing maximum flexibility and freedom of choice for the dentist.
The endo motor is ergonomically well adapted, lying lightly and balanced in the hand. It has a neat contra-angle head that can rotate 360 degrees, providing better and easier access in the mouth. Its narrow neck and small head provide perfect visibility.
The Sendoline Endo Motor has preset programs for Sendoline's rotary system S5. If you choose to work reciprocating instead, you can set the correct angles at the touch of a button and then use the motor with Sendoline's S1 reciprocating system. The motor also has fully open programs for custom settings.
Elisabet Jakobsson, product manager of Directa AB, said in the release that the new modern endo motor is suitable for Sendoline's various file systems.
“The open programs make the endo motor well prepared for the future,” she said.
The endo motor also has a built-in apex locator and can be used in three different ways, only as an endo motor, an endo motor with an apex locator or only as an apex locator.
