Shofu Dental’s FX-LC Light-Cure, Resin-Reinforced Glass Ionomer Delivers Strength and Efficient Bulk-Fill

Powered by New Generation Acrylamide (NGA) monomer chemistry, FX-LC is designed to provide compressive strength that exceeds GC Fuji II LC (GC America) while maintaining the signature benefits of glass ionomer technology: high fluoride release, self-adhesion, and moisture tolerance.

Shofu Dental’s line of dental restorative materials now includes FX-LC, a next-generation, light-cure, resin-reinforced glass ionomer formulated to deliver high strength, efficient 4mm bulk-fill, and excellent value for today’s restorative practice.

Powered by New Generation Acrylamide (NGA) monomer chemistry, FX-LC is designed to provide compressive strength that exceeds GC Fuji II LC (GC America) while maintaining the signature benefits of glass ionomer technology: high fluoride release, self-adhesion, and moisture tolerance. This combination makes the product ideal for high-caries-risk patients, subgingival areas, and challengingmoisture control situations.

FX-LC features Shofu’s proprietary Tri-Cure Technology—glass ionomer reaction, light cure, and chemical polymerization—enabling bulk-fill placement up to 4mm. Clinicians can achieve strong, reliable cures with a 10-second light exposure and no required conditioner step, helping streamline appointments and increase chairside efficiency, according to the manufacturer.

FX-LC is available in high-viscosity (HV) and low-viscosity (LV) capsules (MSRP $349.99 for 50) in multipleshades, as well as a hand-mix powder/liquid kit (MSRP $149.95) and FX-LC Conditioner for enhanced bond strength when desired. The redesigned capsule improves access and visibility, particularly in posterior regions.
